Ferroalloys

Ferromanganese Manganese is present in most grades of steel. After carbon, it acts as the popular alloying agent. Ferromanganese is a member of alloy family which has a high content of manganese. Therefore, it is extensively utilized ferroalloy in the steel industry. Ferromanganese is classified in three types, FeMnHC, FeMnMC, FeMnLC. Factories use different types of FeMn based on demand specification of the final product. This material is produced by heating MnO2 and Fe2O3, with carbon, usually as coal and coke, in either a blast furnace or a submerged arc furnace. In the below table you can find the specs…    Read more…

Ferro silicon manganese

Ferro silicon manganese

Ferro silicon manganese Silico-manganese (SiMn) and ferromanganese (FeMn) are well-known members of the Mn alloys group. Silicomanganese is produced by carbothermic reduction of oxidic raw materials in electric submerged arc furnaces. Silico Manganese is an alloy with 60% to 70% manganese, 14% to 30% silicon, and 0.1% to 2.5% carbon. This alloy adds more silicon to improve some mechanical properties of steel.         Ferro silicon manganese specs SiMn  LC  MC  HC  55/25 Grade  55/25 Grade  70/16 Grade  65/16 Grade  65/15 Grade  60/14 Grade  Chemical Specification  55% – 60% Min  55% – 60% Min  70% Min  65% Min …    Read more…

Ferrosilicon

Ferrosilicon

Ferrosilicon Ferrosilicon is a fundamental element in the steel production process. It is widely used as the deoxidizing agent and acts as an alloying element. This alloy is produced by the reduction of silica with coke in the presence of iron. Ferrosilicon with higher silicon content is made in submerge furnaces. The usual formulation of ferrosilicon contains 70 – 75% silicon with different grain sizes. The product does not demonstrate a hazard issue to health, safety, or environment when handled and stored. Today, China has the highest rate of ferrosilicon production in the world, followed by Brazil, Russia, India and…    Read more…

Ferroalloys

Ferroalloys

Ferroalloys Ferroalloy refers to various alloys of iron with a high proportion of one or more other elements such as manganese, aluminum, or silicon. They are used in the production of steels and alloys. The alloy impart distinctive qualities to steel and cast iron or serve important functions during production, therefore, closely associated with the iron and steel industry, the leading consumer of ferroalloys. The main ferroalloys are: FeCr – ferrochromium FeMn – ferromanganese FeMo – ferromolybdenum FeP – ferrophosphorus FeSi – ferrosilicon FeSiMg – ferrosilicon magnesium FeSiMn – Silicomanganese
