Hot Briquette Iron (HBI)Hot Briquette Iron (HBI)

Briquette iron is produced from direct reduced iron(DRI) in the process of producing briquettes and is widely used in most of steel plants worldwide. Briquetting process is categorized into two groups according to the temperature of the DRI entering briquetting machine, hot briquetting and cold briquetting.
In cold briquetting process, raw materials are entered into briquetting machine in ambient temperature.
HBI is produced in the process of briquetting from hot direct reduced iron (HDRI) and in the temperatures above 650 degrees Celsius and is the easiest and safest production of DRI in the case of transportation around the world.
